[It takes a bit of time before the journal gets into focus revealing a dark haired woman who is now in view, it was obvious she had never used anything like the journal from the momentary glimpse of curiosity with her expression and that she is extremely calm about her arrival for the most part]

Oh! There we go. This is working, isn't it? Now I think I've heard the basics about this place but that hardly makes this anymore reassuring if we're to stay here. It's a bit worrying actually since I have a family to get back to, after all.

If these are supposed to be used for communication, I'm guessing people can hear me through this? I'm not sure whether I know anyone here yet but this seems be the way to find out— I'm looking for two of my sons or anyone who would be from Konoha? I'd really grateful for any help at all.

He places a hand over his face, taking more slow, deep breaths. He would have to talk to her. He can't run from this.

He stands rather abruptly, swiping the journal off the table and holding it out in front of him.]

[Law breathes, his hand slipping down the man's thigh as Itachi moves.

[Itachi takes several more calming breaths to compose himself before beginning. He keeps his expression neutral, wiping all hints of inner turmoil from his eyes, which he leaves dark so that the fact that only one can use the Sharingan doesn't alarm her at first.]

[So even after hearing all this talk about both her sons being older, it still isn't any less surprising when she does hear from Itachi and it shows in her expression too before she responds]

Itachi— I was wondering when I'd hear from you.

It looks like you really are a lot older than I last remember.

[A few moments of silence more as Itachi just looks at her, his memories overlapping the image and deepening the ache in his heart.

A nod is all he can offer her then, an apology on his lips but not spoken. She wouldn't understand the need for it.]

Despite the lack of a verbal response from him, there's a part of her that feels like something is wrong even if she can't pinpoint what that is exactly but she doesn't press the subject just yet] Are doing okay?
