[It takes a bit of time before the journal gets into focus revealing a dark haired woman who is now in view, it was obvious she had never used anything like the journal from the momentary glimpse of curiosity with her expression and that she is extremely calm about her arrival for the most part]

Oh! There we go. This is working, isn't it? Now I think I've heard the basics about this place but that hardly makes this anymore reassuring if we're to stay here. It's a bit worrying actually since I have a family to get back to, after all.

If these are supposed to be used for communication, I'm guessing people can hear me through this? I'm not sure whether I know anyone here yet but this seems be the way to find out— I'm looking for two of my sons or anyone who would be from Konoha? I'd really grateful for any help at all.

If she's asking about Itachi like that -- asking about the son who killed her so casually -- she probably doesn't know yet. Right? Right. It's a good gamble. Gotta run with that; it's not Sakura's job to tell her, and for once she refuses to be the bearer of bad news. She's gonna let the Uchiha handle Uchiha business.]

Oh! Haha, well, I'm actually Sasuke-kun's teammate!

[And as soon as the words are out of her mouth she realizes the implication - Sasuke's teammate and yet she doesn't recognize his mom. Well, Sasuke's never met hers either, so let's just pretend they're that kind of team all around, okay.]

His teammate? [The confusion is evident on her face as she responds not only because of how little sense it makes but because it was like Sakura didn't seem to know that she was his mother either]

That's right! It's me, and him, and Naruto-kun, all of us taught by Kakashi-sensei...

[You know, except for that whole part where Sasuke defected and spent a few years trying his best to be a crazy villainous type but let's not talk about that hmm.]

[She pauses for just a moment because those names sound kind of familiar] I think I recognize those names, but that can't be right—

Sasuke wasn't that old the last I remember.

Ah, well, that's something a little strange about this place! People can be drawn here from different points in time. So I guess you were brought here from earlier than I was! Sasuke-kun's sixteen that I remember.

Something like that is possible too— that he's twice as old than when I last remember him then? [She looks concerned for a moment if only because she is not sure what to think at first because that in itself was a lot to take in]

There's... well, there's a lot that's possible here. It's all going to sound pretty unbelievable, but it really is the reality we've seen here over the past few years. People come back from the dead, they're brought here from different points in time, and... and sometimes things will happen, Shifts, that can make changes to the people trapped here.

Oh, and be careful of your wings; damaging them will hurt you very badly.

[There's the overview, she knows it's a lot to dump at once, but at least this way Mikoto can start to wrap her head around it all.]

[Mikoto is just slowly taking this all in and while it does seem unbelievable, she doesn't question it too much] Well that's certainly a lot to take in but I think I understand now even if it's something that sounds impossible.

What do you mean about the wings though?

It does take a lot of getting used to. [Sakura's obviously sympathetic to that.] It'll start to make more sense over time, when you get used to how things work.

And the wings? I haven't been able to trace exactly why they affect us so much -- they're quite hard to examine with medical ninjutsu, unfortunately. But they're quite vital to health. Even losing a few feathers will probably knock you over, and actual damage will leave you in very severe shape, or even kill you.

[She just nods listening intently, there's a brief look on concern on her face at the explanation though before she speaks up again] That's definitely disconcerting. So it's like they're a part of us?

That's exactly right. They're essentially a new vital organ. [Her expression communicates just how she feels about that, but she forces herself out of the scowl after a moment.] Just... be careful, okay? It's not too dangerous here for the most part, but even still....

[Mikoto just nods before smiling slightly, given the explanation it makes sense even if it still strange to her] Don't worry, I'll be careful.

From everything else I've heard too, it sounds like I'll need to be.

It can get pretty weird sometimes. But... but you've got plenty of compatriots around. Konoha-nin stick together, right?

[And she offers a smile.]

I know Sasuke-kun'll be glad to have you here.

Yes, that does make things easier.

[She smiles at that] I'm glad that he's here, it's one less thing for me to worry about at least.
